NewLAX SYSTEM

NewLAX is all about teaching the game and helping players develop as individuals on and off the field. Our quality of lacrosse is shown in our coaching staff and the players that have graduated from our program, all who have derived and thrived in our system.

♦ PLAYING TIME + SUBSTITUTIONS
Players will receive equal playing time, assuming it is strategically possible. We do not pre-determine playing time for our teams. Our subbing system is based on a line rotation but may need to be altered based on the situation, game, and/or players. Our system does not allow players to remain in the game continuously as the physical demands are too high over time.

♦ POSITION PLACEMENT

We work as a coaching staff to identify the best possible positioning for our members on the field based on their skill-set as a player and their personality as an individual. We also emphasize placement based on the player’s ability to showcase in a given position as well as their ability to impact the team. This placement does have room for conversation between the PLAYER and the coach, NOT the PARENT and the coach.

♦ WRITTEN PLAYER EVALUATIONS

One of the most important facets to developing a player is making sure that the player has DIRECTION. After every major tournament, NewLax Elite Players will receive a written evaluation with three things they need to work on and three things they did well over the course of the tournament! Here’s the catch - If a player WANTS to receive an evaluation they must email their coach or specified individual a SELF EVALUATION using the same 3 & 3 outline. We want to help teach our members to be able to evaluate their own play in a constructive and positive manner!
