WHAT IS NewLax?
NewLax is THE place to play for competive players in Connecticut, Northern New Jersey & New York! We will now be the place where good players become great! Technically, it stands for New England Women's Lacrosse!
PHILOSOPHY
At NewLax, we believe that lacrosse is fun and playing and learning a sport should be a great time for all. What we stress is hard work, learning the right game and taking individual responsibility for the team's success. Our teams and the individuals on them will be disciplined players focusing on what they need to do to become better lacrosse players. NewLax will be a safe place for girls to play and to learn, to laugh and to sprint, to cheer and to risk it all.
TEAM PLACEMENT
We place girls on teams based on our professional and thorough assessment of their abilities. We do not - and will not - tolerate parents or kids asking to be switched to a different teams. Throughout the year, we reserve the right to remove players or parents immediately from any event and terminate membership.
MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
We expect that a new precedent will be set in 2008-09. NewLax will become the place to learn and to get better at lacrosse - skills, drills and game play. Members have at their disposal a comprehensive schedule for the year that, IF THEY SHOW UP, will absolutely translate to a better game. We expect NewLax members to commit to showing up to practices AND events.
2008-09 SCHEDULE
What a great line-up! We are still working to describe each practice and will work with local club teams to arrange scrimmages and/or travel to Universities within 2 hours of the greater CT area in order to get our members EVERY kind of lacrosse playing experience! We have added PALM SPRINGS in CALIFORNIA for a great winter trip. For 2010s, we will ask you to prioritize attendance at ALL major events (RIVALRY, PALM SPRINGS, BOUNCE WEEKEND, XPERIENCE, ALL STAR) in order to maximize game potential and be adequately exposed to the college coaches evauating players.
RECRUITING SUPPORT
NewLax members now have recruiting support as a part of their membership. Members get 24/7 support navigating through the process because the website functions as a host to all recruiting resources and materials. 2010 members (and families) are responsible for checking their MEMBER email (first.last@newlaxlacrosse.com) for RECRUITING INFORMATION. NewLax does NOT guarantee that members will play lacrosse at the college of their dreams and we do NOT do any work for members. We are here as guides and supporters.
